Mecca FRC (Family Resource Center) Fair

20 Oct Mecca FRC (Family Resource Center) Fair

By Moises Huerta

Crisalida was invited to the Mecca Resource Fair which took place on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 PM. The location was 91-275 66th Avenue, Mecca, CA 92254. This was the 10th Annual Fair so keep it in mind because it will be here again next year. The Resource Fair is well organized and directed by Maria Machuca who is very visible at the event making sure everything goes as planned. It was my first time there and I was very impressed with the 107 booths representing many service organizations in our community. Community leaders such as Supervisor John Benoit and Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia were also present. Speeches were made and tons of information was distributed. There were HIV tests being given as well.

Crisalida’s role was providing our artists Oscar Guevara, Sofia Enriquez, and Sarah Scheideman an opportunity to share their skills.

Sofia Enriquez set up a booth to help children tap into their painting talents.
